    Unlike the rest of the European capitals, Madrid is open and active even after 5 p.m.  The capital of Spain is often known as “the city that never sleeps”, and that a fact. Dancing, music, great food and shows all over the city are just the begging of the wonderful Madrid nightlife. Being host on the suburbs is not a problem to enjoy the city in the night, because its efficient subway service will take home even until 2 a.m. Be Smart Madrid Diana Aeropuerto is a great hotel choice, its location close to the airport and IFEMA allows the guest to combine business and enjoyment every day.

    Tapas Bars in Madrid

    Walking from bar to bar enjoy a drink with a free tapa is part of Madrid life style. There is almost impossible to walk a yard without finding a tapas bar in Madrid, but all of them have the same quality. Plaza Mayor, La Latina and Huertas are the three locals’ favorite neighborhoods to do tapas. La Musa Latina and El Malsaña are two of the trendy bars in La Latina. Not far from here, is also Taberna Tempranillo a classical tapas bar in Cava Alta Street. Sergi Arola, the famous chef, has its own tapas bar, Vi Cool a fashion place in Huertas area. Try its gourmet burgers or just enjoy the tapas with a glass of wine.

    Musicals, Theater and Opera

    Madrid is the new broadway! Since their stared to be play in the 90’s, musicals have probed to fascinate the locals. The Lyon King and Hoy no me quiero levanter are nowadays most popular shows. Besides musical, Madrid counts with fifty theater that offer at least four shows a week and they have no trouble in filling the house night after night. Plays are almost always in Spanish, but other languages visitors will enjoy the variety of concerts, opera and ballet shown in the city program every week.

    City lights

    There are many monuments in Madrid that are specially illuminated, looking even more beautiful at night. Debod Temple, a building gift as a present from the people of Egypt to Spain, is one the locals favorite night pictures location. La Puerta de Alcalá and the Neptune Fountain are a very popular spot, too. But, if you are looking for nightlife, Gran Vía is the place to be. This main artery is the center of Madrid activity during the night. Here, tapas bar, clubs and restaurant are open all night and day long.
