Samana, in Dominican Republic, not only stands out for its gorgeous, as might be said of many others in this country; the main attraction of this province, located on a peninsula of the island, are the humpback whales that come each winter to the coasts from Greenland to mate.

It is a spectacle of unparalleled beauty, unique, which is worth an excursion from any point on the island. From Punta Cana there are organized tours that take us through the day, and for this we have to travel in small planes. Fantastic!

The Samana peninsula can also be an attractive destination in any season.  Its pristine beaches where the vegetation reaches almost to touch the sea and lush coconut groves are enough claims for the traveler. A boat takes us to the National Park Haitises, meaning land of mountains by numerous hummocks that emerge from the sea.

Its mangroves, small keys and landscapes to be found in the Bay of San Lorenzo make this tour one of the most attractive to the tourist, and if you’re lucky you can find between the native fauna to manatees, bats and sea turtles.

Another major attraction in the area is the paradise island of Cayo Levantado. Its fine white sand and crystal clear waters are a major tourist attraction. The downside is that it gets very crowded, and that can be somewhat overwhelming.
