• Cartagena’s Festival ‘La Mar de Músicas’

    La mar de música

Summer has arrived and brings plenty of parties and festivals that are held throughout the Spanish geography, ensuring good music, entertainment and fun to those who enjoy Spain every day of the year and to those who have come to spend a season with us.

It is the case of La Mar de Músicas’, the festival of Cartagena in Murcia, that going on 20 years, brings us a vertigo staff of artists and it will be finished with  Carlinhos Brown live music.

La Mar de Músicas will take place from 19 to 28 July and, as every year, it will be dedicated to a country. In this 18 Edition, the Carthaginian festival will make a tribute to the new sounds of African music and artists from Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Gambia, Mali, Nigeria…

On the Spanish side, we will have actions such as Juan Perro or Carmen Linares and we must highlight the tribute that will take place in memory of Enrique Morente.

One of the shows that have attracted the most interest is the one scheduled for the opening of the festival. We are talking about the punk opera, ‘Time of the Gypsies’, by Emir Kusturica, which was already premiered in L’ Opéra of Paris in 2007.

‘Time of the Gypsies’ is based on the movie of the same title. Film that brought the award for Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival to Kusturica. We can purchase the opera tickets through Ticketmaster, with prices that range from 38 to 55€.

You can find a fantastic choice of accommodation to enjoy the Festival La Mar de Músicas of Cartagena in the Be Live Mangalan Hotel & Spa, at La Manga del Mar Menor.
